Details: Planning is well underway for the 2017 Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival. This annual event will be launched at the Sandwich Folk & Ale - Folk Party being held at St Mary's Arts Centre on Friday, 7th July.

For the first year the festival will feature an ale, appropriately called Sandwich Folk Festival Ale. which has been brewed especially for the occasion by the Mad Cat Brewery, Brogdale Farm Brewery.

As described by brewer Peter Meaney: "The ale is a nicely balanced Pale ale at 4.0% made using Pale Ale malt, Vienna malt, Medium Crystal Malt and a little Chocolate malt combined with Bramling Cross Hops (UK) Columbus Hops (USA) Aurora hopsę(UK) and East Kent Goldings (UK)."

Sandwich Folk Festival Ale will be available from the following outlets: Cripin Inn, Admiral Owen, Hop & Hufkin, Mermaid's Locker and the George & Dragon.

Details: The one great exception with about 7 miles walk involved!

Meet at 12 for lunch in the Fox, then take the 1.20 train to Shepherdswell for a walk to Wrong Turn. Leave about 3.30 for a good walk to the Carpenters in time for evening opening. Early evening return by bus and/or train.
