images/beerfoaming_thumb.jpg Thirst Thursdays - The 2019 GBG Trail
11th February 2019

This year the DDS GBG Trail continues again - under the guise of 'Thirst Thursday'

So if you are free on the first Thursday for the next few months join us as we once again wend our way round every GBG-listed pub in our Branch Area. There are 17 this year, so six sessions in all.

Most pubs are in urban areas where the maximum walk will be about half a mile to access pubs from bus stops or railway stations, the only exception being the May walk which will entail a walk of 2.5 miles from Barfrestone back to Shepherds Well.

It won't be a drinking race. All the pubs have been selected for their beer quality and should be ideal places to while away the time and soak up the ambience.

So come along and support your local pubs and let's hope for a good turnout. And any hardy soul visiting all the pubs will of course receive due recognition on completion.

By unanimous decision, the Griffins Head, Chillenden was voted our Branch Winter Pub of the Season. With its wood beamed and tiled interior with inglenook fireplace it's a great place to hide away from the winter weather.

The other nominations were: Freed Man, Walmer; Ship Inn, Deal and Louis Armstrong, Dover.
