diary/sfafale.jpg New Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival

Planning is well underway for the 2017 Sandwich Folk & Ale Festival. This annual event will be launched at the Sandwich Folk & Ale - Folk Party being held at St Mary's Arts Centre on Friday, 7th July.

For the first year the festival will feature an ale, appropriately called Sandwich Folk Festival Ale. which has been brewed especially for the occasion by the Mad Cat Brewery, Brogdale Farm Brewery.

As described by brewer Peter Meaney: "The ale is a nicely balanced Pale ale at 4.0% made using Pale Ale malt, Vienna malt, Medium Crystal Malt and a little Chocolate malt combined with Bramling Cross Hops (UK) Columbus Hops (USA) Aurora hopsĘ(UK) and East Kent Goldings (UK)."

Sandwich Folk Festival Ale will be available from the following outlets: Cripin Inn, Admiral Owen, Hop & Hufkin, Mermaid's Locker and the George & Dragon.

We are proud to announce the launch of the Branch Pub of the Season Competition - Summer 2017, and we welcome all nominations.

If you feel that your local (or for that matter any other pub in our Branch area) is a good pub for summer, if it has an attractive garden, or offers fine views on a summer's evening over the countryside or across the sea, or is simply a pleasant place to spend a relaxing few hours on a warm afternoon then let us know.

To nominate a pub for this competition just complete the nomination form.

The deadline for nominations is our Branch AGM on Monday, 19th June 2017. Please note that you can only nominate one pub.

The latest version of Channel Draught, No 71, is now available. With an informative look at what's been going on in the real ale industry, CAMRA campaigns, local pub news, social events and lots more.
