diary/kentinnnames.jpg New Kent Inn Names (organised by Kent Archives and Local History)
17th October 2019

Dr Paul Cullen of the English Place-Name Society, and Editor of the Survey of Kent Place-Names for the EPNS, is due to speak in the Archives Search Room at the Kent History and Library Centre, Maidstone, on Monday 28 October, at 1:00 p.m. on the subject of Kent inn names.

Paul will, we expect, be looking into the meanings and/or origins of selected names of Kent inns and public houses.

His source material will include original Kent alehouse licence registers from the 1700s, held here at the Kent History & Library Centre.

Paul is a brilliant and entertaining speaker.

N.B. this is a FREE EVENT, and all are welcome to attend, but Kent Archives would be grateful for expressions of interest in coming - please ring 03000 420673 or email archives@kent.gov.uk
