Some great news about two pubs which will be opening soon.....

The Admiral Harvey (13 Bridge St, Dover) which closed in January 2018, is having a pre-opening event on Friday, 20th December, before officially opening on Monday, 23rd December.

The Stag (7 The Stand, Walmer,) will be reopening its doors on Wednesday, 18th December, following a few weeks of refurbishment.

We'd like to offer both pubs, as we do to all the pubs in our branch, best wishes for the future.

We're looking for your local pub that you believe is a great winter pub, whether it's a roaring fire, a great selection of winter ales, tremendous winter pub grub, fabulous Christmas decorations or it just offers a place to hide away on a cold winter's night.

Welcome to the 20th anniversary edition of Channel Draught. Yes, 20 years...which has seen the magazine evolve from a couple of double-sided A4 pages to the glossy magazine we have today.

The Autumn 2019 edition is now available with lots of great information about real ale, news, social events, a crossword and much more.

Articles include: o The First Channel Draught; o Westerham Brewery; o Sandwich Connect; o Pulling Power; o Hop Growing in Hythe; o The Anti-Alcohol Movement; o A Late Summer Stroll; o A Brewpub Survivor; o Across the Border - The Beery Boaters Spring trip on the Llangollen Canal into Wales; plus all the regular stuff.

You can submit your nomination by completing the Nomination Form.

The deadline is November's branch meeting on Monday, 18th November.

We've been told that Peter and Kathryn have sold the Mash Tun - their last trading day will be Sunday, 13th October.

The Mash Tun will be closed for a few weeks for refurbishment and is expected to reopen at the end of November under a new name.

CAMRA's 47th edition of the Good Beer Guide was published yesterday and is available to buy from the CAMRA shop.

It features 145 pubs in Kent, including 33 new entries, and 47 breweries, of which five of them are new to the book.

We're please to announce that from Monday, 2nd September, The Farrier, 90 Manor Road, Deal, will be joining CAMRA's Real Ale Discount Scheme.

CAMRA members, on production of a valid membership card, will be eligible to 50p off a wide range of their real ales during opening hours.

The Kent CAMRA Cider and Perry Competition was held at the last month's Kent Beer Festival. The results are:
