A new date will be announced in due course.

Congratulations to the Crown Inn, Finglesham - voted Branch Winter Pub of the Season 2020 at our branch meeting on Monday.

The other nominees were: Just Reproach, Deal; White Horse, Dover & Wrong Turn, Barfrestone.

We'll shortly be announcing the date of the presentation.

Whether you are an individual or a business have you considered sponsoring a barrel of beer at our Winter Ales Beer Festival (7th-8th February 2020).

Beer Festival sponsorship represents a great opportunity either for an individual to support this fantastic local community event, or a business to promote themselves to a wide and diverse audience over two fantastic real ale days.

A Sponsorship Package costs £75 and includes two complimentary tickets to the festival, 2 souvenir glasses and eight half-pint beer tokens. Your sponsorship will be noted in the festival programme as well as above the cask of beer you sponsored.

Some great news about two pubs which will be opening soon.....

The Admiral Harvey (13 Bridge St, Dover) which closed in January 2018, is having a pre-opening event on Friday, 20th December, before officially opening on Monday, 23rd December.

The Stag (7 The Stand, Walmer,) will be reopening its doors on Wednesday, 18th December, following a few weeks of refurbishment.

We'd like to offer both pubs, as we do to all the pubs in our branch, best wishes for the future.

We're looking for your local pub that you believe is a great winter pub, whether it's a roaring fire, a great selection of winter ales, tremendous winter pub grub, fabulous Christmas decorations or it just offers a place to hide away on a cold winter's night.

The Autumn 2019 edition is now available with lots of great information about real ale, news, social events, a crossword and much more.

Articles include: o The First Channel Draught; o Westerham Brewery; o Sandwich Connect; o Pulling Power; o Hop Growing in Hythe; o The Anti-Alcohol Movement; o A Late Summer Stroll; o A Brewpub Survivor; o Across the Border - The Beery Boaters Spring trip on the Llangollen Canal into Wales; plus all the regular stuff.

CAMRA's 47th edition of the Good Beer Guide was published yesterday and is available to buy from the CAMRA shop.

It features 145 pubs in Kent, including 33 new entries, and 47 breweries, of which five of them are new to the book.
